26. They're always cuter when they're not yours.

Janice is now the proud owner of a bassett hound puppy named Macchiato.
She brags about how much fun he is, and about how cute he is...but we all got a sneak peak behind the curtain when Janice came to work with a fun and cute urine stain on her knee which she had accumulated while saying goodbye to Macchiato on her way out the door.

27. Balancing Out: Superbowl XLI
Friday, 02 February 2007

I have been preaching all season that the AFC team that makes it to the Super Bowl would win hands down. After balancing out the teams, I am thinking that the game may not be a blowout after all. In fact, the Bears may actually have a chance.

Every weakness that the Colts have, seem to be a Bears strength. But I think that Peyton Manning will find a way to win no matter what. (Just look at the AFC Championship game.)

Quarterbacks: Colts
The Colts depend on Peyton Manning as much as Rex Grossman depends on the Bears. No contest here. I'll give Grossman the young guy handicap, but he still isn't close to being in the same league as Manning.

Running Backs: Bears
Unless the Colts playoff defense shows up, Jones and Benson should have the game of their lives. As for the Colts' Joseph Addai, a good old fashioned "welcome to the NFL" is coming his way.

Receivers: Colts
Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne......Need I say more?

Defense: Bears
Both teams have a great defense...when they show up. Based on consistency throughout the regular season, the Bears should definantly have the advantage if they can fluster Manning. Although, getting to Manning hasn't exactly been easy lately.

Special Teams: Bears
The Bears' Devin Hester should run through the Colts' punt defense team like Montezuma's revenge. The only person worth mentioning on the Colt's special teams is Adam Vinatieri. But who else would you rather have kicking your field goals in a Championship game?

Coaches: Equal
Which ever coach gets his team riled up the most, will win. One point for Dungy though due to the fact that he has Peyton Manning to manage his offense.

All in all: The best offense VS the best defense....its going to be a great game.

29. Unnecessary Roughness?
Wednesday, 10 January 2007

After a king-sized hit put on Chad Pennington during the New England/Jets game this weekend, Phil Sims commented on how a personal foul should have been called since the defender had driven the QB into the ground, then landed on him.

Are you kidding me? The defender made a great hit. It wasn’t late, he didn’t lead with his helmet, nor did he hit him below the knees. It was a clean, good old fashioned, stadium shaking NFL HIT.

Don’t get me wrong, I am the sister of a quarterback, so I am all about QB’s getting some protection, but the rules on tackling the quarterbacks of the NFL have gotten ridiculous lately. These men are supposed to be NFL quarterbacks...not pee wee league quarterbacks. They should be able to take a hit or two. Heck they get PAID to take a hit or two.

Remember back in the good old days when the quarterback was protected by their front line rather than the officials?

I am anxious to see what rule they will ad next season. Maybe the quarterbacks should just be wearing flags and a red jerseys.

If any one rule needs to be made for a quarterback...it should be that Phil Sims should be required to wear a muzzle. Especially during Bronco games.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
