Hola Amigos! I'm Sandra. I like to believe that people are 70 percent good and 30 percent dumb. I'm stickin to that story. Reading this blog might make you want to be good, but probably just dumb.
1. Subconscious crush
Thursday, 12 July 2007

I think I am in like with someone. But it is only presenting itself through my dreams. My sisters call it "my secret crush".

I've never really had this happen to me before. I've always known I've liked someone and then I dream of it. Like the time I dreamt about meeting my favorite hockey player, Alex Tanguay or the time that I dreamed that I was the girlfriend of one of my favorite latin singers, Jorge Moreno and most recently I dreamed of meeting Gerard Way.

This is where it gets weird. I've never expressed an interest in crushing on any of the members of My Chemical Romance, neither have I cared for their music (until recently). They aren't bad if you listen is small doses.

But I've never found the goth, dark image appealing, OR maybe I did, and I just didn't know it.

So I am calling this a subconscious crush. There is something about that guy I must like to cause me to dream about him.

He's not bad looking. He's just not who I would have a crush on.... when I'm awake anyway.

2. Transformers (applause)
Friday, 06 July 2007

I think I've complained about this before. Yes, the movie is good. I went to go see Transformers at 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Lots of people were there... I mean a lot. The last time I had to wait in line to get into the theater was Spider-Man but that was earlier in the day not at night.

We thought we would go to the late show, because we figured the hype would die down. So, I'm pretty sure by looking at the late crowd that Transformers is going to break some kind of record.

Anyway with that comes applause. I understand that parts of the movie are really fun and funny. It's it's funny you laugh, if it is surprising you may gasp or jump in your seat (which I did), but clap. Not so much. Clapping bugs me because no one who had anything to do with the movie is there to appreciate your gesture. They can't hear you and to some extent they don't care.... So why clap!

I know the audience applause is because they enjoy the movie, and they want to show their support, their appreciation and their satisfaction. But it's also really annoying. It's not theater. Maybe thats it.

3. What a joke...
Friday, 08 June 2007

Everyone is thinking it.

Paris Hilton spending three days in jail is ridiculous. She deserves to be locked up for a year which is what happens to regular people who drink and drive and put innocent people's lives at stake. Sick or not (which I doubt) she should be in cell. That is what going to jail is all about, losing your freedom, a punishment. Just because you can't take it doesn't mean you get to be let off the hook. House-arrest is not jail.... especially her house.

What happened to her resolve to prove the "media" wrong that she could make it in a regular person's jail. All she had to do was finish out her sentence which was only going to amount to 23 days. Preferential treatment from the beginging... she was sentenced to 45 days and had it reduced, then she goes to jail, stays for three days complains that its cold and she can't sleep. Please...

I had felt bad for her for a tiny second when Sarah Silverman took a jab at her at the MTV Movie Awards (while she was there), but I don't anymore. Check it out.... it you haven't seen the clip of the show. Here is a link... I tried to put the clip directly on here, but I got tired of waiting for YouTube to load. Oh yeah... here's the link. http://www.sarahsilvermanonline.com/mtvintro.html

4. My first digital album
Friday, 04 May 2007

Slowly I am stepping out of the cave man era and into the technological arena. It really wasn't by my own choice though.

It all started about a year ago, when the business office mentioned that it would be easier for everyone if I started receiving my pay through direct deposit. So... reluctantly I did it. It was harmless and easy.

Back in March, I decided to go to John Mayer's concert at Red Rocks this June. But I wasn't able to get up early to go to a ticketmaster outlet and I never, ever, ever buy anything online.... (I am paranoid though about the whole identity theft thing so I was really worried about buying tickets online. I don't think about it anymore.) But it was John Mayer! So, I finally broke down and bought my tickets online. It was fast, it was easy. Hmmm....

So for my birthday I received an iPod nano (probably the coolest thing I own) and started putting songs onto my iTunes so I could transfer my music to it. Then I got a gift card to the iTunes store to redeem my gift card, duh, I had to do it online.

But I did it, and my first digitial album purchased online is........

Elliot Yamin. haha! It is a the first album by the third runner up to last year's "American Idol". It is pretty good. Love the guys voice. Of course I also picked up Maroon 5 and Carrie Underwoods new singles as well as a couple of old favorites by the Jacksons: Shake your Body Down To The Ground and State of Shock. Great songs. Fun songs!

So the whole technological, credit card, online thing is getting easier for me to do. I still worry. Just a tiny bit.

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
