A column I wrote a few weeks ago has gotten me quite a few responses. I wrote a column about searching for a church.

I just want to clarify that I have been looking for a church, not religion. While I appreciate that there are many people out there that have a church they enjoy and are committed to, and they want me to know about it, the reason for my column was not to solicit e-mails that say: Come here, we like it so would you.

The main purpose for my column was to encourage those in a similar search to keep looking and also to show that sometimes we just need to stand back and wait for an answer from God.

Now, I'm the last person that should talk, when it comes to patience. I am the most impatient person ever! Which leads me to another reason that I wrote about it. I get frustrated easily and writing about it helped me get some of that frustration out.

So, to everyone that wrote to me thank you for your e-mails, and your prayers. But I am on the right track, just sharing more than you want to know about me (because I can). ;o)

43. Yeah, Let's talk about me some more.
-

This week's cover story talks about cell phone etiquette. I guess I never really thought about it. I do give the person I am talking to in person priority, and I try not to be on the phone in a checkout line (like I said I do in print - is that libel, hmmmm, no just lying I guess haha!) But sometimes you think you can get away with it and you push it until someone calls you out on it.

My friend, Claire (name is changed to protect this not-so-innocent person) always answers her phone, even if we are talking to each other in person on the phone. Or she will put me on a three-way conference call and let us all chat together. It's fun when you know the other people, if not, it's kind of awkward.

She phones and messages at her leisure, and I take my habits from her. She says she's become something of a "cell-phone role model"."People look up to me," she said. So, I've become something of a cell phone jerk thanks to her. I'll try to change my ways. And maybe hers too. (yeah right! That's gonna happen)!

44. It's short!
-

Yeah, I decided to cut it off. Five inches off! It's shoulder length.

But I like it a lot. And I have the option of going shorter if I decide that is what I want to do. Soooo.... I just might go shorter.

Besides, It grows out anyway. I'll post a pic soon as I have some time.

45. No freaking out, or maybe! (shrugs)
-

It's almost summer. So, I figure it's time for change. The first thing I'm gonna do is get a new hairstyle.

It's sort of a big deal just because my hair is sort of long. Something like Medium-long hair. And I've had the same style for a few years too. The reason I say it is only sort of a big deal is this. I cut my hair every couple of years, pretty short too. So it's not something I usually freak out about.

My family and friends however like to make an issue out of it. I get questions like: Are you sure you want to do this. That short? Why now? Shouldn't you wait until after (some special occasion) in case it turns out bad?

So, all their freaking out has me a little worried. I chose a style I thought I would like. But then I started choosing more and more styles, each one less and less daring. So, I have about 5 styles ranging from safe (my usual hair cut - long layers, trim) to OMG! (That will be a big change for you! - lots of inches off. About 4 or 5 inches off).

So we'll see which one I end up with tomorrow afternoon! It all depends on how much I freak out tomorrow.

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
