1. TiVo
Wednesday, 11 July 2007

Why is it when you first get the TiVo, you start recording everything you've ever wanted to see on tv?  It starts to become an issue to go to work, because you've got so much stuff recorded that you haven't watched, you just can't keep up.  Then you start fast-forwarding through some boring shows, and then wonder why you are even bothering at all.   But you can't stop!  You've got TiVo, you damn well better use it.  Or, you realize there are more motorcycle races and episodes of South Park than Laguna Beach  or The Hills.  And of course, you don't remember scheduling it to record the X-Games, so you think someone has somehow figured out how to take up all your memory with guy shows....then you realize your boyfriend is enjoying the TiVo even more than you!  This is when you think of a plan: use the parental controls.   Would that be considered bad?  Exactly how mad do you think he would be?  Or should you just stick with the normal plan: wait until he falls asleep then delete the shows he half watched that have been there since February.  Case-in-point: The Super Bowl.  Why the hell is that thing still saved.  We all know who won.  It really isn't a surprise is it?  Not only that, but we're getting into this years season, so we don't want to dwell on last years do we?  The answer is no!  Do it, press Delete!

2. Oh the serenity
Friday, 06 July 2007

So, while most of you were probably partying your a$$es off on July 4th, I was home cleaning.  Not only was I cleaning, but I wanted to clean.  Not because I'm a neat freak like Monica Gellar, but because I had something exciting to clean.  My boyfriend and I now have our house all to ourselves....and our two dogs.  We once had 4 people living there.  Let me tell you how small our house felt.  It felt like I lived in my old just-out-of-college-on-my-own apartment, which was also a studio.  Cramped, no storage, barely legal to be a residence.  But I digress....  I had such a great day just setting up our guest room.  Putting the furniture where I thought it looked best and not worrying about what I might step on while I was in the room.  After some fresh paint and a good steam-cleaning, it was like a guy never lived there!  Now the bathroom was another story.  I wouldn't even go in there without some industrial rubber gloves.  But that too is now acceptable, and even "cute" with it's new shower curtain, clean towels, and fresh scented candles!  We are now equiped to entertain over night guests, but let me be clear.  We have a max  stay for any "guests" of 3 nights, after that, you're on your own!

3. Let's get on with it...
Tuesday, 26 June 2007

Okay, we all know Paris made it.  She's out of jail.  Let's just get on with it.  I have a lot more celebrity gossip that takes precident over Paris in or out of Jail.  Like for instance, are Jake and Reese broken up for real, or they just taking a break? Or, does anyone know for sure if Nicole Ritchie is pregnant ? What crazy antics has Brittney been up to?  And why in the hell does Angelina care if Brad's mom went to see Jennifer?  Duh, we all know they were close since Jennifer doesn't have a mother figure...well, except for her real mom that she just doesn't like I guess.

4. Mission 19!
Monday, 18 June 2007

I'm so excited that Mission 19 is going to be at Lucky Joe's this week! That is by far my favorite place to see them.  They are just so fun!  I think they'll be there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Not to mention playing at Brewfest this Saturday!  I guess I'll have to get my fill since they don't come to town as often anymore....

5. ahhh...summer
Wednesday, 13 June 2007

Nothing says summer like some nice camping.  Roasting marshmallows, drinking beer, hiking, trying to fit two people and two dogs on an air mattress-it's great.   However, when you head up "to the mountains" you never really expect it to be cold in June.  Well, lets just say you should give Grand County some time before you head up there in the hopes to camp.  Last week, we loaded up the car with all the goods, and the dogs to  head out for 3 or 4 days of nature.  Needless to say, I didn't pack appropriately.  I had to buy some fleece pants, thank god they were having sales!  We camped one night on our way up, it was great.  But, once we got close to Winter Park, we were welcomed with some rain, and eventually, some blowing snow.  Yep, it was snowing.  By no means a blizzard, but there were no questions as to whether it was really snow.  We ended up staying in a hotel, and due to some food poisening, we decided it was a good idea to head home the next morning. It turned out to be a bummer, we didn't even get to eat at Hernando's!

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
