'The Invasion' movie review
"The Invasion" is the fourth film inspired by Jack Finney's `50s sci-fi yarn "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." It's also the least of these films, though that assessment may have more to do with my having seen all the other versions multiple times. Someone not so overexposed to the material may very likely find this a satisfyingly provocative creepfest.

'Rocket Science' reminiscent of 'Rushmore'
It could have been a cheap joke: a stuttering teen trying out for the debate team. But in Jeffrey Blitz's smartly comic "Rocket Science," the painful predicament of high schooler Hal Hefner (Reece Thompson) becomes something more — a poignant, absurdist take on adolescent angst, suburban dysphoria, and first love.

Manufactured Landscapes movie review
"Manufactured Landscapes," a documentary about Burtynsky's photography, finds beauty in ugliness, creation in destruction, art in commerce and politics in aesthetics. The images are so beautifully colored and composed you have to work to remember you're looking at something ugly.

Superbad movie review
They spend 60 percent of their time thinking about sex and 60 percent thinking about partying. (That adds up to more than 100 percent, but all of these movies show that young men often think about having sex while partying.)

'Rush Hours 3' movie review
"Rush Hour" has gone from being a likeable buddy franchise to an annoying series that has all the depth of a bad comic book. "Rush Hour 3" has two-dimensional characters who go from scene to scene with little regard for what happens in-between. All that is missing from this film is a big splashy "POW" or "THWAP" when one of the bad guys gets hit.

Underdog movie review
It still has a place in that darned Thanksgiving parade of balloons. But maybe you have to be a certain age and have a memory of a middling but endlessly re-run TV cartoon from the `60s to get a thrill from its theme song.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
