In its second year, the CW is still trying to find itself, which explains why on Thursday morning it revealed a fall schedule with only two days of its freshman lineup untouched. Nevertheless, the schedule looks somewhat familiar, with all old shows maintaining their original days/times and new shows plugged into the empty slots. |

The analysis I heard most often this week from "Idol" fans was that if either Melinda Doolittle or Jordin Sparks were eliminated, next week would be no contest — that whichever one survived would walk all over Blake Lewis. |

"Apprentice" star Donald Trump and executive producer Mark Burnett say that come next month, the show is a free agent and could leave the Peacock Network. A day after NBC left "The Apprentice" off the 2007-08 schedule — but also refused to pronounce it dead — the two men said there's still life in the show. |
