Q: Both my wife and I are former college athletes. In the mid ’90s, I rode the pine for several uneventful seasons in the Continental Basketball Association. We both continue to stay in good shape, mainly jogging, biking and lifting. Our two kids are 7 and 9 and they both want to be like mom and dad and want to exercise with us. With the obesity epidemic affecting children, how young is too young for them to start exercising and at what level or intensity? And don’t get me wrong, I’d much rather my kids become doctors or lawyers than professional athletes. It really took its toll on me.

The weekend's biggest movie, "Ratatouille," pulled in $47.2 million at the box office. That's a lot of clams for a movie about a rat named Remy who prepares gourmet chow in a Paris restaurant. |

There isn't a magic pill or potion for dieting. We know this, even as we nibble on grapefruit, cabbage or meat in a desperate attempt to lose weight. |

You may never buy an iPhone, but you should still thank Apple for building it. The frenzy surrounding the release of Apple's user-friendly multimedia cellphone — 11,000 print articles, 1 million customer queries, 80 million mentions online — has forced the entire wireless industry to confront customer dissatisfaction and plot product improvement. |

Did a 4-year-old girl named Halle really get alcohol poisoning after licking hand-sanitizer gel off her hands? That's the story in a widely circulating e-mail. And it has some parents around the country calling for schools and child-care facilities to ban the common anti-germ gel. |

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
