'An Unreasonable Man' movie review
Though the title refers to what was, to Democrats at least, the unpardonable sin of putting George W. Bush in the White House — if Ralph Nader given his support to Al Gore instead of remaining in the race as an independent candidate, Gore would almost assuredly won in the electoral college as well as by popular vote — it is ultimately meant to be a compliment.

Monster haul for Shrek
America's favorite ogre scored some long green this weekend.

"Shrek the Third," the further adventures of a grumpy ogre and his wisecracking pals, earned $122 million in its first three days, the highest opening weekend of all time for an animated film and the third highest for any film, trailing only "Spider-Man 3" and the second "Pirates of the Caribbean."

"Oklahoma" starts at Union Colony Dinner Theatre
“Where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain” could apply more aptly to

'Jindabyne' movie review
If you've read much Raymond Carver, or seen Robert Altman's "Short Cuts," the core story of the Australian film "Jindabyne" should be familiar: Four buddies hike into the woods for a weekend of fishing, one of them reels in a woman's corpse, and ... well, they just keep on catching fish, putting off notifying the police so they can continue their coveted days of bonding and big trout in the outback.

'Fay Grim' movie review
Hal Hartley's 1998 gem, "Henry Fool," is about the tricky relationship between a garbageman poet and a blowhard stranger whose huge manuscript, scrawled in speckled composition notebooks, was "a philosophy ... a literature of protest ... a novel of ideas ... a pornographic magazine of truly comic-book proportions."

Leo Kottke overcomes health to play like a master
Quietly emerging from the late-1960s folk revival to become one of today’s most respected guitar players, Leo Kottke’s signature picking style and syncopated rhythmic accompaniment borrows as much from Mississippi country blues and Appalachian folk ballads as it does from jazz and rock.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
