The analysis I heard most often this week from "Idol" fans was that if either Melinda Doolittle or Jordin Sparks were eliminated, next week would be no contest — that whichever one survived would walk all over Blake Lewis. |

"Apprentice" star Donald Trump and executive producer Mark Burnett say that come next month, the show is a free agent and could leave the Peacock Network. A day after NBC left "The Apprentice" off the 2007-08 schedule — but also refused to pronounce it dead — the two men said there's still life in the show. |

When disagreements flare up, Nick Wilson isn't afraid to hurl insults at his fellow bloggers. "I've been unkind to people for sure," said Wilson. "It's easy to go just a little bit further than you would if you were face-to-face." |

Like choosing a restaurant or which new movie to go see, deciding on the next book to read is subjective. Every now and then, though, a title comes along that's so compelling its appeal is pretty much across the board. |

As "American Idol" prepares to present its top three performers Tuesday night, it's harder to overlook the top-rated TV show's flaming absurdity: For weeks, we've been voting for singers based on how well they perform live on TV, yet we will hear the winner mostly in studio recordings on the radio or iPod. |

The abruptly cancelled Tim Minear-produced series will return July 4 for two consecutive hours, running from 6-8 p.m. Those two hours will represent the end of the show's initial six-hour run, as well as the last two produced hours for "Drive" (i.e. don't expect an extensive DVD set featuring 13 episodes, because they don't exist). |

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
