An Excerpt from Brooks' journal
An excerpt from Brooks Letchworth’s journal, written while he was serving as a leader on a high school youth expedition with Educo:
July 2006:
“Down the rocky slopes and further along the grand tour, tour of grandeur, past Reservoir Lake where wind dances across the skin of the water, swirling and rippling in a slow and intimate sonnet from one bank to the other. The students spent one hour of the hike in silence, during which it seems the subtle voices of Nature whispered truths they might not listen to for years to come. But, maybe they heard the wisdom loud and clear. We walked on and on, about 10 hours total; and returned to camp with a rich satisfaction and healthy fatigue... a well-earned hunger. I must say, I am repeatedly amazed and fulfilled by the conversations brought about by the darkening night. The students have such a special sensitivity and honesty to share. There are moments when my faith in the future is completely restored. These youth have an openness and capacity for self-reflection that I rarely see in my peers and adults. I am so grateful to be a part of their growth.”

Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

|  | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
