This is “GC Trutails Pink Floyd,” a grand champion show cat owned by Sunny Lodge, her daughter Ambeur Johnson, both of Loveland, and Trudie Allen of Fort Collins.

It’s hard not to fall for a soft bundle of kitten joy, but for Sunny Lodge, she met the cat of her dreams when she found Phat Phat, her 9-month-old Burmese cat.
“He’s the greatest animal love of my life,” Lodge said. “He was such an outgoing, ornery, little kitten.”
Phat, as he’s called at his home in Loveland, will be making the rounds along with his friend, Cassie, a 5-month-old Maine Coon kitten at the 24th Annual Cowboy Country Cat Fanciers Cat Show this weekend.
Lodge and her daughter, Ambeur Johnson, will be showing off their kitties in all their furry glory, and Lodge expects the cats to successfully strut their stuff.
“I have high hopes for both cats; I think both will do pretty well,” Lodge said.
Lodge first started showing Abyssinian cats in 1981. After showing for five years, she decided to pursue other interests. But her love and her daughter’s love of felines brought them back into the cat show business in 2000.
The mother-daughter team thought a new cat breed would be fun to try, so they decided to start fresh with Maine Coons.
“We loved the size of them, the curious personality — but they’re calm, confident cats,” said Lodge.
Maine Coons are the largest breed of cat to be seen at the Cowboy Country cat show and Lodge said Cassie, her kitten, will be quite a show-stopper.
“Cassie’s very flashy, I’m excited to show her,” Lodge said. “She has a beautiful, beautiful type. Her confirmation (look) is everything I think a Maine Coon is supposed to be.”
The Cowboy Country Cat Fanciers Cat Show originated in Wyoming but moved to the Loveland area a few years back since there was a larger interest, said show manager Dennis Allen.
“Cowboy Country has always been a really good show for people who are campaigning cats for regional and national wins,” Allen said. The show is licensed for as many as 225 cats and for 38 different breeds.
“People don’t realize there are 38 championship breeds and we do (judge) household pets as well,” Allen added.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
