FDA proposes new gluten-free label rules |

There could be more "gluten-free" labels at the grocery store.
The Food and Drug Administration released a proposal Monday that would let companies voluntarily label foods without the cereal protein gluten as "gluten-free." Gluten is found in wheat, rye and barley.
The label could be used on foods processed to remove the protein. The rule wouldn't apply to foods that ordinarily don't contain gluten, like corn and rice.
WHY NO GLUTEN?
Gluten can cause inflammation of the small intestine in the estimated 1.5 million to 3 million Americans with celiac disease. Most have never been diagnosed.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
