'Dreamgirls' gets 8 Oscar nominations |

It could be a golden Academy Awards night for "Dreamgirls," but the musical won't take home the top prize.
"Dreamgirls" earned eight Oscar nominations on Tuesday morning, but was shut out of the best picture category. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett's "Babel" wasn't far behind with seven nominations and a nod in the top category.
And the nominees are:

• If Scorsese doesn't win for best director he would be the losingest director ever with six losses.
• Ten-year-old Abigail Breslin is the fourth-youngest actress ever nominated.
• The 2007 Oscars get the award for most ethnically diverse with five black, two Hispanic and one Asian nominee.
• Three of "Dreamgirls" eight nomiantions were in the original song category.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
