Multiple Emmy winners Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton are considering a return to TV comedy — on the same pilot.
The two stars are in negotiations to headline a comedy called “Action News” that’s set up at 20th Century Fox TV.
No deals are done yet, the showbiz trade papers report, but if things break right, the studio is expected to begin taking bids on the pilot in the near future.
Given the instant name recognition of both stars, the pilot seems almost sure to incite some heavy competition among the networks. The show’s creative team is no slouch either: “Action News,” about the reunion of two anchors at a local TV station, comes from “Frasier” veteran Christopher Lloyd and “Just Shoot Me” creator Steven Levitan.
Grammer won four Emmys for playing Dr. Frasier Crane on “Frasier.” Since the show ended in 2004, he has played Beast in “X-Men: The Last Stand” and starred in NBC’s “A Christmas Carol,” but the bulk of his TV work has come behind the camera. He’s an executive producer of NBC’s “Medium” and The CW’s “Girlfriends.”
Heaton won back-to-back Emmys in 2000 and ’01 for “Everybody Loves Raymond.” Other recent credits include “The Path to 9/11” at ABC and TNT’s movie “The Engagement Ring.” | Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. |

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
