After not being able to snatch a PS3 on the night that Sony launched its franchised video game product (due to a severe shortage), I bought my PS3 just about 2-3 weeks ago. I believe that the shipment I bought from still hasn't sold out at Best Buy. So what's with the PS3? All hype and no show? Well...
I've been a huge and loyal fan of the Playstation system since my parents bought me the original console when I was a teenie-bopper. Then the PS2 I bought on my own terms, but had waited on almost a year after the launch. The PS2 was the system. The best lineup of games, quality, and durability, etc. So, I was ready to get my hands on the much anticipated PS3.
Unfortunately, I have had to sacrifice alcohol funds to cover the funding of this console. I do have 2 game titles though, thanks to my credit card.
There are some cool features and gizmos and gadgets about the PS3, and yes the graphics are pretty stunning. But the bottom line is that its just plain expensive. I have yet to get a second controller, and I am holding off on buying another game until March. The main problem is; is that I don't have a HD TV. The TV I have is a very nice Sony television, but it isn't HD, so I'm not really getting that much more out of my PS3 than I did my PS2. All in all, I think it would have been better if I would have waited, say a year, like I did with my PS2. Having said that, I am now going to go embarrass Tiger at his own game, and have a few beers, hey I downgraded to Keystone, it's alright!

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36) writen by: Drew What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |
