The Super Bowl, grand spectacle that it is, creates some scintillating, history-making moments — before the game, during the game and even at halftime.
Here’s our Top 3 moments, in order. (Your favorite probably didn’t make our list. Hey, you can’t please everybody when boiling 40 years into a list of three, so cut us some slack.)
—— 3. The Elway spin Super Bowl XXXII in 1998 Denver 31, Green Bay 24
Yes, we’re being homers, but this can easily be justified. Quarterback John Elway, headed for the Hall of Fame, had experienced nothing but failure in the big game. Thrice he had been thrashed. The franchise had never won it. Green Bay was heavily favored. And the NFC had spent a decade beating up on the AFC. Elway helped turn the tide with a third-down run and leap — in which he was spun in the air by a big hit — to help the Broncos win.
—— 2. The boob Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004 New England 32, Carolina 29
No way you missed the furor over Janet Jackson’s “exposure” during the halftime show. You’d think the country had never seen a nipple before. And oh, by the way, New England won another championship off the foot of Adam Vinatieri, who kicked a 41-yard field gold with four seconds left.
—— 1. The guarantee Super Bowl III in 1969 New York Jets 16, Baltimore 7
Brash quarterback “Broadway” Joe Namath guaranteed his Jets, from the maligned American Football League, would beat the National Football League champions and heavily favored Colts. The Jets did win, legitimizing the AFL and laying the foundation for the game to be the spectacle it is today.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
