PERSONALITY OF A PLANET: NEPTUNE: It seems apt for the planet of psychic sensitivity that Neptune was sensed before it was seen. Mathematical calculations based on irregularities in the orbit of Uranus pointed to its existence. And though we now know much more about this blue, gaseous giant, Neptune is so far away that he still remains shrouded in mystery. He is named for the god of the sea, a temperamental dude with a beard, who had dolphins for personal assistants. And though his mythology is tied to a male figure, astrologers attribute many feminine characteristics to him -- he's considered a higher octave of Venus. This also seems fitting when one considers Neptune's rulership over artists -- the artistic world usually being less hung up on traditional gender roles. Neptune is the patron planet of poetry, intuition, dreams, illusions, fantasy, music, dance, fashion and cinema. These are big responsibilities to hand to a planet so far away that it takes him 165 years to orbit the sun. But never fear. He's powerful in his own right and can definitely handle a creative challenge. Neptune has a strong internal heat source that radiates about three times as much energy as it would if it only received energy from the sun.


CELEBRITY PROFILES: Drew Barrymore is quoted as saying, "Love is the hardest habit to break, and the most difficult to satisfy." A Pisces with a highly sensitive Cancer moon, Barrymore may take that sentiment back when she discovers mother-love, which, for a Cancer moon individual, is like love in a new dimension. However, she'll likely wait another three years before broaching that subject.
