Have you ever walked through Old Town Fort Collins and been amazed by all the great art you can see and buy?
The Mosaic of the Arts on Feb. 10 is one way you can join with other art lovers to celebrate the city’s vibrant community. You’ll also be able to honor one of the art scene’s biggest supporters.
Arts Alive Fort Collins is putting on the event that will be an evening of cocktails, cuisine, music, silent and live auctions, and performance art.
The 2007 Medallion of Peace Award will also be presented to Roz Spencer.
Spencer, since she became a resident of Fort Collins in the mid-70s, has been a major force in the Fort Collins art scene.
Spencer has opened three major art galleries since her arrival, the Horizon’s Gallery in 1982, Power Plant Visual Arts Center in 1985 and One West Art Center in 1991. Spencer’s main mission is to give back to the artists. In the words of an artist friend, Roz “offers a sanctuary for artists and a place of art.”

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
