Eaton author to sign new book Saturday |

The city of Fort Collins is where Eaton author Bruce Schmidt started forging a story and translating it from his head to his laptop, so it's only fitting that he return for a book signing with the finished novel on Saturday.
Schmidt will sign copies of "Yard" from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Barnes and Noble, 4045 S. College Ave. This is not his first signing in Fort Collins. He used to work at Colorado State University and said at his last signing, the stack of novels was sold out in less than an hour, something he credits to college readers and a strong local following for his quick-reading suspense story.
"It's a very spooky suspense about a brother and sister," Schmidt said. "They kind of reopen Pandora's Box in the cycle of misery, death and intrigue."
In addition to writing, Schmidt is a chief engineer for a health care company based in Denver. He lives in Eaton with his wife and five children.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
