"American Idol" dreamboat Constantine Maroulis will make his daytime television debut in May, joining the cast of "The Bold and the Beautiful."
Maroulis' addition to the CBS soap has long been rumored, but it's now been announced that his stint will begin May 15.
CBS only goes so far as to say that Maroulis will appear on "The Bold and the Beautiful" for several months and that during that time, he'll be able to perform several of the songs from his upcoming solo debut.
Maroulis will play a music producer named Constantine Parros (probably for many of the same reasons Tony Danza generally plays characters named "Tony"). The character becomes involved in the life and career of heiress Phoebe Forrester (Mackenzie Mauzy).
The 31-year-old Maroulis finished sixth on the fourth season of "American Idol" (behind luminaries like Scott Savol and Anthony Federov). The conservatory-trained vocalist was attached to an ABC comedy loosely based on his life, though no pilot was ever shot. Instead, Maroulis appeared on Broadway in "The Wedding Singer" and Off-Broadway in "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris."
Maroulis' transition from "Idol" to aspiring soap star is far from unprecedented. You may recall (though you probably don't) that Matthew Metzger went from Season Three semi-finalist (and Paula Abdul favorite) to "One Life to Live" featured player. | Only registered users can write comments. | | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
