In an unprecedented outpouring of love, Paris Hilton's fans have posted an online petition asking California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon the 26-year-old celebutante, who must report to jail June 5 for a 45-day sentence for violating her probation in a reckless-driving case.
The petition, which had 900 signatures by Tuesday morning, paints a picture of Paris not so different from many other prisoners of conscience, including Alexander Solzhenitysn and Nelson Mandela: It decries the prospect that such a singular visionary as Paris, who provides "beauty and excitement" to "most of our mundane lives," should be caged like a beast.
The petition says Paris, who was sent down for driving with a suspended license following a DUI bust, "provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world" because of her position as "an heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune." | Only registered users can write comments.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
