“Where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain” could apply more aptly to
Greeley than Oklahoma, but it’s the latter that is forever immortalized by
the lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma,” which recounts a love story set
against the backdrop of the Oklahoma territory in 1906, is the first and
perhaps the duo’s best-loved musical.
Now, the Union Colony Dinner Theatre, 802 9th St., will put on the important
show as the last of the theater’s spring season.
The show highlights the tensions on the new prairie that cowboys and farmers
fought about in Indian territory in early America.
The show will open May 18 and run until July 22. Tickets for Thursdays and
Sundays are $34, tickets for Fridays and Saturdays are $36. Ticket prices
include dinner, the show, coffee, tea and tax. The doors and the bar open at
6 p.m., and the show begins at 7:45 p.m. On Sundays, the doors and bar open
at noon, and show time is at 1:45 p.m.
This year’s shows included “My Fair Lady,” “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now
Change,” “The Taffetas” and “Steel Magnolias,” which closed May 6.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
