In the United States, Memorial Day is observed today, in remembrance of the military men and women who died serving their country. Today also, Mercury enters Cancer, the sign of memory, making this Memorial Day exceptionally nostalgic. Break out the photo albums and call family. Let your feelings flow.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Romance won't leave you alone! What an enviable problem to have. On a career note, affiliating yourself with a successful relative or friend helps get a project off the ground.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You appreciate the variety of opinions around you -- they all seem to have something to contribute to your understanding. Maybe you'll pick up a few new pieces of homespun how-to so good you won't want to keep them to yourself.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You're experiencing an emotional growth spurt and may feel awkward while you're still in the adjustment phase. This could manifest in your physical appearance, even though the change in you is internal.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). The heart has a kind of memory the mind doesn't, which is why you remember your first kiss and forget what you learned in school. Let yourself be tutored by your feelings. Learn by heart.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). It's quite possible you're a blind optimist for believing in the best in everyone. And you believe in the best in you, too. Don't knock your believing. It's been your guardian angel on more than one occasion.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (May 28). This year you develop the power to turn on your creativity whenever you need it. So problems that used to stymie you find easy solutions. Making money is your forte in June. You change the way you do business in order to maximize your time. Adventure sends you far away in July. You share a special connection with Libra and Pisces people. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 6, 20, 50 and 41.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You feel like a drop of water in an ocean of opinions. But you matter. You contribute. You make a difference. Speak up, and don't wait to be called on to do so.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You're headed in the right direction, and you know what you're talking about. So when you communicate, whether by voice, letter or e-mail, keep it direct, assured and to the point.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). There's always another way to get the job done, and you're the one who thinks of it. You may have to pull strings, but you can do so within ethical bounds. A Virgo person helps.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Every person's emotional complexities are beautiful. Some people can't cry. Others can't stop. You appreciatively witness the wide range of responses you can have to any given situation.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You're there for others. They'll probably profess that they couldn't do "it" without you; however, you may not care about "it " as much as they do. Being there for yourself is trickier business.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Your flexibility is really working for you. Will others be as adaptable when it's time to accommodate you? Why, yes! You get away with bending the rules because you're so darned attractive now.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Lunacy isn't for asylums and full moons; it's a rarified state of being. A bad case of the giggles, making silly faces and rhymes, laughing till your stomach hurts -- it can't be beat. Find the fun in going absolutely loony.
ASTROLOGICAL TOPICS: Mercury enters Cancer. In ancient cultures, Mercury was the modern equivalent of FedEx between humans and gods, allowing mortals to hear divine messages. He directed and blessed travelers at dangerous trade routes. He's even helped newly deceased souls cross over to the afterlife. Versatile, eh? As our minds deliver the quick-thinking messages we need to get out of a jam, Mercury presides over the analytical mind. So Mercury's costume change from chatterbox Gemini to intuitive Cancer is a dramatic shift in the way we think and communicate. Cancer's strength is her feelings. We drop into what our soft bellies feel about it all. Instead of hearing the words of a conversation, we pick up a tone, see a facial expression and feel the emotional impact of what's being said. Expect impassioned pleas that appeal to our emotions. We're sympathetic to each other's stories -- we relate deeply to what we hear. "I've been there before ... " Personal stories strike a chord with our hearts. We remember. Which gentle listener will give us the unconditional compassion we need? We want our mommies! Yes, dear. Mercury in Cancer understands.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Is Kylie Minogue's talent image or substance? This Gemini's been criticized for being just a sexy package. Anyone with five planets in shape-shifting, talented Gemini (sun, moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) would find it incredibly hard to differentiate her true self from pop imitations! With her recent breast cancer battle, Minogue will make great progress recovering her health this year.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
