"Pirates" rules international waters |

Still ruling the domestic theaters, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" spent its second weekend atop the foreign box office as well.
While the theme park ride sequel fell a heft 62 percent in its second weekend, earning a little over $43 million, "Pirates 3" took in a hefty $105.4 million overseas. That estimated tally represents only a 46 percent drop from its foreign haul in its first weekend.
Through Sunday, "Pirates 3" had made roughly $408.8 million. Through its first 12 days, the worldwide total stands at $625.3 million, already good for 29th of all time.
"At World's End" is playing in 103 territories on more than 17,000 screens.
In its first two weekends, the third "Pirates" film has faced virtually no new competition, but upcoming weeks will see day-and-date domestic and foreign releases for "Ocean's Thirteen" and then "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer."
For this past weekend, "Spider-Man 3" was a distant second with only $11.8 million, according to media reports. That sequel has new earned $525.7 million foreign and $844 million worldwide, 14th all-time. | Only registered users can write comments.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
