The list of what makes Windsor appealing to many is endless.

From growing industry and commercial development to one of the top-ranked school districts in the state, the town is growing at a fast pace because people see the benefits of living the small-town life smack in the middle of three large cities in northern Colorado.

But the appeal of Windsor is reaching far beyond Colorado, as New York-based Money Magazine now has its foot in town.

Stephen Gandel, senior writer for the CNN-produced product, was in town Tuesday interviewing town officials and people on the street for what many think is a top-ranked place to live edition coming out in August.

"He came up here and met the mayor," Windsor town manager Kelly Arnold said. "We spent over an hour giving him a 101 history of Windsor -- where we are now, the issues, why people are moving here. And I gave him a list of lots of people to talk to. He just wanted to learn more about Windsor. He had never been to this part of the country."

Gandel, who didn't share with Arnold the criteria, was spotted in downtown Windsor taking pictures of people on the street and asking them questions about the quality of life in town.

Arnold said the reporter knew the town was in the ranking for this year's poll, but he did not know where. All impressions were it was fairly high up on the totem pole.

Money features different size communities each year. Windsor is in the category they are featuring this year, Arnold said.

Last year, Fort Collins was named the No. 1 place to live in its category.

"He gave us the general indication that we were ranked somewhere high because they were doing a story on us," Arnold said. "I guess in the August issue we'll find out."

Regardless of where Windsor falls, Arnold said this is a great opportunity to promote the town.

"If you look at the example of Fort Collins and how they've handled it and used it for public relations -- Realtors have said it brought a lot of attention from outside of the area, it's another way of putting Windsor on the map for promoting our quality of life."

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
