This year's Friday Fests kick off Friday with food and a free concert.
The fests take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays through July 20 on the 9th Street Plaza. This year's first musical act is the Tropical Coyotes, who play contemporary rock. The music line up for this summer also includes Erik Johnson and the Country Contraband, the 101st Army Band of the Colorado National Guard, Kizumba and Deja Blu.
There will also be food booths by area restaurants like Armadillo, Bread Board, Lopiano's Schwartz's Krautburger Kitchen, Tropical Sno and the Mad Cow Creamery.
Restaurants Corleone's, Dutch's, The Rio Grande, Island Grill, Woody's Newsstand and Salvador Deli will also be serving lunch in their respective restaurants.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
