Just like the girl ZZ Top immortalized in its hit song, Linda Teglovic indeed has legs and knows how to use them. But Linda Teglovic uses her legs the way a real estate agent uses a yard sign; her legs are a business.

Linda Teglovic, who graduated from Greeley Central in 1978, worked as a body double in Hollywood and in more than 300 leg ads. Her legs, for a time, were her life. They made her $10,000 a day at times. She once insured them for $10 million. They even got her a recent appearance on “The Tyra Banks Show.”

Now she continues to sell legs. And hands. And lips. Heck, even elbows. Only this time, they’re not her own.

She owns and runs Body Parts Models, an agency she founded that showcases a model’s best features.

Linda Teglovic has worked as a model since she was 14 and specifically modeled a part, her legs, in her mid-30s for five years. She did ads and acted as a body double for actresses such as Geena Davis and Renee Russo (she appeared as her backside in “The Thomas Crown Affair”).

“I was 35 and pinching myself,” she said. “I was saying, ‘Don’t let anyone else find out what a good gig this is.’ I loved it.”

She made lots of money at it and was getting calls for gigs almost every day. Now she wants people to find out what a good gig it is. She eventually hopes to have agencies like hers throughout the country, not just on the East and West coasts.
Linda Teglovic was always used to working hard. She got straight As in school, according to her mother, Mary, who still lives in Greeley with her husband and Linda’s father, Steve.

Modeling was no different. Linda Teglovic was discovered at age 14 while modeling in a storefront window after she won a contest at the Greeley Mall.

“I kind of laughed it off. I thought it was a pageant thing,” Mary Teglovic said. “It was no laughing matter after a while.”

“It was a serious, but part-time, job,” Linda Teglovic said about modeling.
“It takes a lot of focus and time and commitment,” she said. “That takes away from the everyday life. I did give up my freedom at a young age, but I traded that for the opportunity to do things I wouldn’t experience otherwise.”

That much pressure on appearance, drove many of her peers to drugs or alcohol, but Linda Teglovic dodged all that.

“You would have never seen me in Studio 54...,” she said. “I think that’s because I was raised in Greeley. That kept me grounded.”

She discovered something about the film industry: Body parts are in big demand, especially in the film industry.

When she retired five years ago from body-parts modeling, she noticed there wasn’t any way for films to shop around for the best parts and book them. She also found a desperate need for a hands for iPod ads or feet for shoe commercials.

She enjoys the business and believes she’s a good agent. “The real business is understanding the contracts you’re signing,” she said. “I know that now.”

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
