When Fort Collins band Daddy Rab takes the K99 free stage at the Greeley Independence Stampede, it will not be the first time, but with their large arsenal of songs, you can bet they will put on a show you have never seen before.
"We can play 'Johnny B. Good' and turn around and play Jimmy Eat World," said drummer and vocalist Keith Byers.
Byers started the band in 1993 and said that there have been personnel changes since then, making him the only original member still with the band.
However, with guitarist Brandon Roeder being with Byers since 1996 and bassist Wes Heilman since 2002, the band has had some time to develop what Byers calls a "mighty trio."
"We have strong vocals happening, our solos are soaring, and we have got some sweet harmonies," Byers said.
Byers said that the band loves the K99 stage, but that it can be a tough gig, because "you never know how many people are gonna be in that area."
"We just go out there and bang out our show whether there's 20 people or 1,000," Byers said. "But naturally, it feels better when there's a larger group out there."
Byers said though the band has an extensive list of covers in its repertoire, members tend to play more originals when they do public shows, saving the more recognizable songs for the private events.
According to Byers, their most recent original songs have leaned more toward the reggae and pop genres, and that is due to the songwriting of bassist of Heilman, who he said was "on fire lately."
He said that listeners could expect just about anything, but that the set would probably include some country songs to fit the mood and location of the Stampede.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
