It's a new day for love! The new moon in Cancer accompanies Venus' entry into Virgo, with all the spunk of Venus-in-Virgo babe Mae West, who in one of her milder moments said, "Love isn't an emotion or an instinct, it's an art." Maybe the art of loving is to accept its imperfections and keep on striving.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Do you believe that wishing someone well can affect him or her? The omens suggest you conduct your own study to determine the influence of your fond thoughts on the subjects you choose to think about.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). A lingering problem has an easy solution. That somehow doesn't make it any more appealing. There are times when we know what to do, but don't want to do it. Be gentle with yourself.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your imagination is a little out of focus, which is the beauty of it. There's nothing more boring than a realistic and logical dream. Trust that your whimsical inklings have their own wacky intelligence.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). In spite of the fact that you have way too much stuff, you still have your eye on something new. Tally up your treasures, account for them, give a few away and make space for what you want to drop in.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). This just in: Your plan is unlikely to work. But no worries! A plan is just a place to start. And here's an even better plan: Make choices based on the assumption that everything is going to work out, and it will.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (July 14). You're an original. It doesn't matter how others accomplish their goals; you find your own way, and it works brilliantly! Investments this month and next are lucky. Career building happens quickly as you spend money to make money. Relationships progress in November. There's a big move in January. Leo and Capricorn people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 30, 11, 20 and 14.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You're good at handling life. In fact, nothing will come along that you can't handle. Knowing this, you can take a confident stance even in situations where you have no idea what to expect.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Space stations exist not because of an accidental discovery, but because mankind set "conquer space" as a goal. Perhaps your outrageous aim has a better chance of being realized than a mundane one.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Education is a real bargain. Ask someone you admire to teach you what they do. You'd be surprised at how willingly higher-level experts find time for someone who is humble, willing and eager to learn.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Different, bewildering and foreign experiences just happen to be among your favorite kind. But sooner or later you always return to familiar territory. Today you realize it's time to get home.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Broaden your ideas about how love should be packaged and delivered. Everyone is paying you the highest respect, based on their understanding of the best way to do that.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). A central relationship is growing in power, and you're definitely changing to accommodate it. Decisions that give strength to the bond feel right -- even automatic.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You're losing your inhibitions. You could even tell your story to a complete stranger. It turns out this person will help. Aries and Virgo people are involved in your luckiest moments.
ASTROLOGICAL TOPICS: Venus enters Virgo. Perfection is an impossible standard, although Venus in Virgo will spend tons of energy trying. Perfection is an admirable pursuit, but it takes a toll on our ability to be loving and loved! Venus in Virgo is that quintessential high-maintenance woman who confuses good taste with having taste, outer beauty with inner beauty and perfection with, well, perfection. The beauty industry skillfully entices our imaginations with promises of impeccable flawlessness. But it's no fun not being real. Manicured beauty is attractive and lusterless. Too-high expectations are motivating and relentlessly demanding. Flaw-finding our partners obscures their real beauty. Imperfection is its own elegance. Think about the supermodel with the signature "flaw," or a loving partnership that's triumphed through challenges. Healthy Venus in Virgo acknowledges her faults with generosity, and when she sees yours, she makes them sound even better than they are. Living with this season of Venus in Virgo is about learning that perfection is an art, not a science. To do this a little more loosely, make a list of what you'd like to improve, and then throw it away. Your best beauty prescription is living a life you love, with all the accompanying laugh lines!
CELEBRITY PROFILES: When Richard Simmons entered the weight-loss industry as a force of compassion, he gave voice to the pain of overweight America. His sympathy melted walls and hearts by welcoming the public's teary-eyed confessions with unconditional love, a Cancer specialty. Simmons' sun is touched by the healer/teacher asteroid Chiron, who instructs, of course, healthy eating!

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
