It’s fireworks time.
The communities of Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland and Windsor all put on fireworks shows the evening of July 4.
NEXTnc staffers in years past have had luck finding spots on county roads between Greeley and Windsor where they’ve been able to see at least three different displays — to the east and west.
Most displays are timed with dusk, with nightfall coming after 9 p.m. In Greeley, however, the Independence Stampede’s fireworks display goes off after the night’s concert, which is often after 10 p.m.
For those wanting to shoot off their own fireworks, know that in the city limits of Fort Collins and Greeley all fireworks are illegal. In Loveland “safe and sane” fireworks are legal.

Fort Collins Plenty of activities are going on at Civic Center Park and City Park (site of fireworks) during the day. See our special section inside for more information. Fireworks are set to go off over Sheldon Lake, on west Mulberry Street, about 9:30 p.m.
Greeley The Independence Stampede fireworks show is set off over the Island Grove Regional Park Arena in north Greeley about a half hour after the night show ends. Lonestar’s concert starts at 8 p.m. In years past, the displays usually begin after 10 p.m. The Greeley Country Club usually has an earlier display that can be seen throughout northern Colorado.
Loveland Fireworks will go off over Lake Loveland, Taft Avenue and U.S. 34, about 9:15 p.m. A specially prepared musical accompaniment will be simulcast on 94.3 Max FM.
Windsor Festivities will be at Eastman Park, 7th Avenue and Eastman Park Drive. The Jurassicasters will perform from 7-9:30 p.m. and fireworks will go off over Water Valley lakes. There’s a 4-legged 4K run/walk earlier in the day, too, at Eastman Park Trail. Registration begins at 8 a.m. | Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. |

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | Hola Amigos! I'm Sandra. I like to believe that people are 70 percent good and 30 percent dumb. I'm stickin to that story. Reading this blog might make you want to be good, but probably just dumb. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!

| | My name is Michelle Turley and I'm 28 years old. I live in Severance with my hubbie, Brandon. We have 2 dogs and a cat. We enjoy camping, four-wheeling, and just being in the mountains. I like to cook, clean (go figure), flea market, and play poker. I have so much to say about poker... | | |
