Joey Fatone's song-lyrics game show for NBC, "Singing Bee," isn't on the air yet, but he's already stirring it up with rival Wayne Brady, who hosts a similar program for Fox.

"I actually called him up and said, 'So I hear you're kind of doing a similar show,'" Fatone said Wednesday as he prepped for the first taping. "He said, 'Yeah, it's similar,' and I said, 'Ours is better.'"

"Singing Bee," like Fox's "Don't Forget the Lyrics," asks contestants to recall the words to pop songs. "What's really cool about this game is you have a chance to win the final $50,000, but it's also really easy to at least get $5,000, $10,000, $15,000," said Fatone. "If you're pretty good with lyrics, you're able to rock and roll with it."

For his part, Fatone joked that he's just there to "make fun of everyone."

"My role is just to keep it moving," he said. "Obviously I have a musical background, so that kind of helps. Although, thank goodness, you won't really be watching me sing. But I try to help them out if they mess up."

Fatone, who hails from the group 'N Sync, high-stepped into America's heart this year, placing second on ABC's hit show "Dancing With the Stars."

"(NBC) told me I sucked on 'Dancing With the Stars," and then they said, 'How about doing this show?'" quipped Fatone. "I've worked with them before. I hosted a show called 'Fame,' and then obviously doing 'Dancing' doesn't suck - it gives you a boost.

"Basically, I had a meeting with them, sat down with a bunch of other people and talked about possibly hosting this show," he said. "I was definitely interested, and literally the next day I got the call."

While Fatone's "Dancing" fans needn't worry about a scheduling conflict, he said NBC has worked it out so he can fulfill his hosting duties and continue on the "Dancing With the Stars" tour.

And there's good news for 'N Sync fans: Fatone said he's "sure" the producers of "Singing Bee" will toss one of the group's hits into the lyrical mix.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
