The fourth annual Chefs4Students fundraiser — formally Chef2Chef — is moving locations.
Pelican Lakes Country Club announced Wednesday the annual event that raises money for upcoming chefs is moving to Austin's Homestead Restaurant at Water Valley.
"Following the latest events at Chimney Park Bistro that included the termination of Executive Chef and co-owner Florian Wehrli, the board of directors of the Bistro decided to cancel the 4th annual fundraiser in their restaurant," a press release from Chefs4Students.org stated.
Chef David Nelson of Steamboat Springs, along with the Chefs4Students.org organization decided to move the event after Austin’s Homestead offered to host the event there on July 31st as planned.
Any reservations or deposits already received are being transferred to the Water Valley facility.
“We are very excited to be able to still hold this now traditional annual event in Windsor” said Wehrli, who added the space at the Homestead could cater to more people than the previous location.
Reservations are being accepted on a first come-first serve basis.
Nine renowned chefs from Colorado and all across country will create a nine-course menu paired with wine.
Cost of the event is $175 per person. And a silent auction will also be held.
All proceeds go to the Chefs4Students.org Culinary Grant Program to help aspiring chefs fund their culinary education.
Thirteen students received scholarships from last year's event. This year, Chefs4Students.org expects at least another twelve grants to be available
For more information on the fundraiser, how to apply for one of the grants or to book one of the remaining seats, contact Florian Wehrli: (970) 402-2318 or go online chefs4students.org. | Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. |

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
