'Ugly Betty,' 'Sopranos' top Emmy nominations |

 "Ugly Betty," the freshman ABC series about a young woman who doesn't quite fit in, was the Cinderella of the Emmys on Thursday, landing 11 nominations, including one for star America Ferrera as best comedy actress.
In drama, HBO's recently departed mob series "The Sopranos" went out in style with 15, including best actor nominations for James Gandolfini and Edie Falco. Both have won three Emmys for their roles as a suburban couple balancing a fiery marriage against the world of organized crime.
Nominations for outstanding drama series went to ABC's "Boston Legal" and "Grey's Anatomy," NBC's "Heroes," Fox's "House" and HBO's "The Sopranos."
For outstanding comedy, it was NBC's "The Office" and "30 Rock," HBO's "Entourage," CBS's "Two and a Half Men" and ABC's "Ugly Betty."
Winners will be announced in the annual awards ceremony Sept. 16.
In other key categories, the nominees were:
Lead actress in a drama: Patricia Arquette, NBC's "Medium;" Minnie Driver, FX's "The Riches;" Falco, HBO's "The Sopranos;" Sally Field, ABC's "Brothers & Sisters;" Mariska Hargitay, NBC's "Law & Order: SVU;" and Kyra Sedgwick, TNT's "The Closer."
Lead actor in a drama: Gandolfini, HBO's "The Sopranos;" Hugh Laurie, Fox's "House;" Dennis Leary, FX's "Rescue Me;" James Spader, ABC's "Boston Legal;" Kiefer Sutherland, Fox's "24."
Lead actress in a comedy: Ferrera, ABC's "Ugly Betty;" Tina Fey, NBC's "30 Rock;" Felicity Huffman, ABC's "Desperate Housewives;" Julia Louis-Dreyfus, CBS's "New Adventures of Old Christine;" Mary-Louise Parker, Showtime's "Weeds."
Best reality show: CBS's "The Amazing Race;" Fox's "American Idol;" ABC's "Dancing With the Stars;" Bravo's "Project Runway;" Bravo's "Top Chef."

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
