Could it be that the force that makes the world go round is indeed, as the poets have suggested, love? As the closest planet to Earth, Venus assures us that love is essential to life on Earth -- but war god Mars is the second-closest planet. As Mars and Venus tangle today, before taking a stand against anything, we must first stand on love.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). The constraints that keep you from having what you want may be imaginary. That doesn't make them any less effective. Use your stellar visioning powers to disintegrate the chains.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You have your own deep insights into the human experience, which you're inclined to share with very little provocation. In doing so, you keep another person going.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Regardless of your opinions about whether the sky is falling or will remain more or less above you, the sky does its own thing. Loved ones act much in the same fashion. So you may as well reserve those opinions.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Even though you've been at your game for a while, you still feel upbeat, enthusiastic and not afraid to show it. Your lack of pretense makes you a perfect mentor.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). If there are people standing idle around you, give them plenty to do. Heap on the requests, directions and requirements -- don't be shy. Otherwise, they'll stir up trouble.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 7). The changes you undergo in the next seven weeks help you figure out exactly where you're going. Success depends on a simple plan. You find your strengths and work them until they work! An adventure in October puts romance in the spotlight. Family connections lead to more money in November. Scorpio and Pisces people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 6, 35, 22, 14 and 3.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You're an expert salesperson, spokesperson or performer. Whatever you're doing, you make it look easy. You also make it look fun, like anyone who's not doing it is missing out, big time.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You don't set out to raise eyebrows, but you do it anyway. There's something in you that needs to be the rebel. It's unusual for you to actually aim for discord, which is what makes you all the more fascinating.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Don't go for the momentary rush. Go for the real joy. It may take longer, but it's better for the soul, not to mention the pocketbook. Whatever is good for your finances is good for your general outlook.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You've paid tribute to "them" long enough. Time to pay homage to you. Tell stories about the plucky fun you had as a babe, or honor yourself with a gift including your favorite things.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Career concerns are like a nagging partner who brings up the same issues time and again. Funny how the same problem can come back in so many different forms. An Aries person can help you conquer this one.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). As long as you're on a personal improvement kick, you may as well be recording it in some fashion. Blog it. Brag-book it. Post it on your community board at the grocery store. Tell the world you're on your way.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Once you commit, your work becomes creative, original and surprising. As you continue to explore a direction, a new style emerges. Others may comment favorably. Soak it in.
ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I was born May 1, 1965, at 3:21 pm. I just finished shooting a short film as the lead with some amazing people. The experience was fantastic and has been a dream of mine since I was a small child. I'm ready to throw myself into this world and have the support behind me. What do the stars say for this 42-year-old woman who has found the courage to pursue her dream ... finally?" Ah, the energy of someone who has touched her dream -- how divine! Your chart teems with incredible persistence and artistic vision. What you're witnessing is the slow unfolding of every courageous step you've made in a dramatic larger-than-life birthday year. Astrologically speaking, you've successfully navigated your midlife crisis -- that critical age when many people wake up one morning to discover they've outgrown the life they have (transiting Uranus opposes your natal Uranus in your early 40s). Shocking for some, you prepared for this time by nurturing and sustaining your dream for the long haul. The flowering of your life's dream will continue to unfold in fascinating shapes and colors all year. May your story inspire all of us to patiently lay track for our dreams!
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Before television programming and Cineplex's, there was only radio. Leo entertainer Garrison Keillor's radio show, "A Prairie Home Companion," makes yesterday's habit of sitting around the radio for a skit and song seem novel -- if not downright old-fashioned. It seems Keillor's Venus and Jupiter in nostalgic Cancer strike a folksy chord in the heart of tradition-loving American audiences.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
