Venus continues her retrograde, backing out of Virgo into Leo (again), giving we earthlings, her adoring love slaves, yet another opportunity to appreciate our dear ones. Recognizing someone's special-ness with kudos is the Leo way. A round of applause satisfies even the most ornery Lion -- and makes for a more peaceable kingdom.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). When you reach a small objective, celebrate it -- don't wait to hit the milestone. Your attraction to passionate people makes this evening one of the most interesting in recent history.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You're so lucky when it comes to attracting just the right teacher for the lesson you want to learn. You could meet a role model for all seasons -- likely a Capricorn person.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Many of your opinions have changed over the years, but there are some long-held beliefs you simply don't want to let go of. If they've stood the test of time, maybe it's because they're true.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). If a person offends you without knowing, is it really an offense? Not if you don't take it that way. Let strange comments roll off of you like water off a duck's back.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Sharing sometimes feels more like doing nothing than doing something -- like when you're sharing the spotlight with a creative friend. Refrain from adding your flair.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 8). Love conquers all this year ... eventually. Take the high road, and by November you'll be figuring out what to do with your big rewards. There's romance in what you do for work and work in what you do for love. Inspiring others is your passion in December -- you'll be paid well to do so. You have a special connection with Sagittarius and Virgo people. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 30, 13, 2 and 9.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). The planets seem to illuminate the very flaws you'd most like to ignore. Consider giving up the battle and simply loving yourself for who you are right now, as-is.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Power and wisdom are best used together. However, you're around people who have one quality without the other. Where there's lack, you can fill in. Go where you're needed.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). With enough sleep, water, food, exercise and friendship, potentially stressful situations are a piece of cake. You can handle anything that comes up.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Grand plans hang in the balance. If only you could build a reputation on what you're going to do. For now, keep finding ways to strengthen your resolve until you see results.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). To dread a task will only make it more time-consuming and weighty. Take away the dread, just drop it, and the job will be finished in half the time.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you ... or to your best friend instead. Rather than being overly generous with what's rightfully yours, stake your claim.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Wheel and deal until you wind up with exactly what you want. Of course you know better than to start with your bottom line. Another Pisces person will be the easiest to negotiate with.

ASTROLOGICAL TOPICS: Venus Retrograde in Leo: As Venus moves from Virgo into Leo today (through early October), our desire for love and recognition is more than mere flattery -- it's a contemplation of heart. What do we need to feel really loved and alive? A captive audience? A captivated heart? And how do we tell the difference? We all need to feel we're the most special person in the world, and to have that "in love with life" feeling. Venus in Leo has that endearing quality of falling in love with everyone she meets. Your song, your creativity, your cooking -- you have a talent no one else has, so let's celebrate it! No one's more devoted to the cause of love. She's devoted to celebrating love, a river unending in supply. We devote ourselves to love when we make a practice of seeking out the beauty in another, then worship, adore and glorify it like no other. Venus only re-enters a sign when she has a reason -- maybe, like an actress, you might hear applause, but feel empty. Perhaps you find yourself saying, "My heart isn't in it anymore." That's just Venus retrograde in Leo, reminding you that it's time to figure out what makes your heart sing again!

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Dustin Hoffman has a rare and special planetary configuration between Jupiter, Uranus and Mercury in crafty earth signs. In character he appears at once chameleonesque and observationally astute. Leos are the original artists, born entertainers. With his talent for studied productions that look improvised, if he weren't an actor, Hoffman would make a great sculptor or mime.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
