Like your favorite motivational speaker, Mercury and Jupiter in fiery Leo and Sagittarius are big talkers with big promises, their irrepressible optimism convincing you they have the tools to deliver -- and they do. A little exploration yields more possibilities for the future, far vaster than you'd imagined. So go ahead and believe the hype.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). The planets encourage you to stretch your powers of imagination, observation and memory. You may not need to exercise these powers in order to get by, but in order to thrive, you've got to work them.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You're trying to learn from the master, but the best way to learn is to do it yourself. A demonstration will bore you to sleep. Get your hands on your subject of interest.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Untried territory is your favorite, and here you go again. You're working without knowing what the end result is supposed to look like. This is how genius is born.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). You're seeing the world through cockeyed lenses, but at least you're being true to your vision. Your particular eccentricities are irresistible to someone who can, in some small way, relate.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Contrary to what some of your loved ones think, living exactly the way you want to live isn't selfish. And you wouldn't dream of making them live like you. To each his own is your motto.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 9). There's no telling just how far you can go this year, as you continue to rev your energy and perfect your talents. A financial gift this month is a sign that you're on the right track. Educational opportunities are plentiful through September. Romance is met in a center of learning. You share a special connection with Aries and Virgo people. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 1, 24, 38 and 11.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). It's getting a little quiet in your neck of the woods. It almost makes you long for the days when you were talked about. Alas, one phone call tonight puts you right back into the mix.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You want things that are so unnecessary -- that, it turns out, is the beauty of it. If you wanted only practical things, you'd be so boring to yourself. A Pisces person finds you irresistible.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). The intent of borrowing is to give it back. If someone isn't "giving it back," this person isn't a borrower, but a thief. So speak up. Offer your offender a chance to make amends.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You'd rather be left out than trapped. Flee quickly from stifling institutions and people. Your escapist fantasy provides not only respite, but inspiration.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). It's in the transitional moments -- waiting in line, in traffic or between appointments -- that you connect with the greatness of this day. Absorb the gorgeous colors of your life, wild and varied.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). When things go all wrong, don't assume you deserve it and accept the knock. Figure out what's really going on. Karma is about lessons you need to learn, not about punishment.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Consider this radical idea: Take care of yourself (SET ITAL) before (END ITAL) attending to other people's demands. The result from putting yourself first is equally radical -- a fulfilled heart.
ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "My birthday is July 24, 1967. I've lived in Los Angeles for almost 10 years. I moved here to pursue a career in acting, for which I had studied at a renowned university in New York. I did some work, but L.A. was full of disappointments. Recently my mother became very ill in Florida and needs someone to care for her. I've decided to leave L.A. and go care for my mom. We come from a very dysfunctional family. I fear going to Florida, although I am relieved to leave L.A. I don't know exactly what I'll be doing with my life, although in my heart I know that one day I'd like to return to N.Y. What do you see for me? I'm clearly at a turning point." Have confidence that you're making the right decision for the right you, right now. Not forever. Help your mother, but stay clear on your personal boundaries. This is a huge crossroads for you, one that will give you the time and space to consider your next move. You're impatient to hightail it out of L.A., and quick. But you'll be in "Never-Never thought I would land here" Land by September.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: With that world-recognized voice, Whitney Houston's record sales are second only to another Leo diva, Madonna. So what's troubling Houston? Neptune and Saturn have been hanging around an already difficult relationship between the sun, Neptune and Saturn in her chart. Houston will want to take control of her image this year. Aligning herself with only mature, accountable friends would help.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
