Are you the author of your life? Writers know the power of the word -- when you put it down on paper, it becomes real. Saturn and Mercury meet today for dramatic declarations of personal authority. Frank, bold statements catch some by surprise as folks summon their courage to speak, and write, what's really on their mind.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). You expect much from friends. Or is this what you should have been receiving all along? Tonight brings exercise, fresh air and your favorite person.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). When you get off your purpose, don't worry. Getting lost can be fun, liberating and eye-opening. And anyway, detours will eventually lead you back to the main road.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Synchronistic events are a message to you that you are in the flow of life. It doesn't have to be major -- something you see in the clouds, the recurring theme of a phrase or number -- to be significant.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Let nothing hamper your momentum. Think ahead and get the jump on opportunities. Tonight, the love you put into the world will be returned to you tenfold from places you weren't expecting.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You proudly radiate the courage of a lion. From this courage, your other fine qualities can be honed. Concentrate on keeping your confidence high and everything falls into place.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 18). Your confidence boileth over this year! The fall features an eclectic mix of friends and associates. Keep an open mind, as the most unlikely characters will contribute to you in a magical way. November is all about love, sweet love. Your windfall month is June 2008. There's an abiding bond with Capricorn and Aquarius people. Your lucky numbers are: 30, 15, 39, 18 and 50.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Though you love to learn, you don't always enjoy being schooled. The key information sinks in best when you truly respect your teacher. Spend time with those you admire, and you're educated nearly by osmosis.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Turn down new roads, open old boxes, answer strange calls. When you don't know what you're doing, it's all a risk. And risking makes you feel vividly alive.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You're determined to get to the bottom of a domestic issue and fix it for good. The playful, childlike point of view you bring to a problem will solve it faster than will any reasonable approach.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You're internally confident and outwardly focused. This balanced state is well applied to your social life. You can elevate conversation so it's more than an exchange -- it's an art form.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Light and pleasant interactions suit you just fine now. You're attracted to a friendly, cooperative, harmonious tone. Keep avoiding the heavy discussions and dodging the dry, practical matters.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You have a point to make and no time to waste being clever or artsy. State your point, and then state it again even louder. Blunt information will be received and acted upon.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). From the person standing next to you in line to the person cutting your hair, everyone has an opinion about what you should do. Out of this, you'll realize just how committed you are to doing things your own way.
ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "My birthday is Sept. 24, 1970. I feel like I'm adrift. I have a career that I like, but the company I work for is unstable, my boss isn't that great and the pay is below the market rate for my position. And there are hardly any opportunities for advancement where I live. I became a single mother eight years ago, and I don't want to move because my child is in an excellent school system and the community is great for kids. Since I've become a single mother, I've only dated one person, and we mutually decided we weren't right for each other. There aren't a lot of options on that front, either! How do I find what is right and good for me without disrupting everything that's good for my child? " Great parents can forget who comes first. Airplane flight crews instruct that, in the event of an emergency, parents put on their oxygen mask first, then their child's. It's not an intuitive choice, is it? This upcoming birthday year you'll be moving, changing jobs or both. Hold the view that your child's healthy development depends on how available you are (read: personally fulfilled) to him. CELEBRITY PROFILES: In the entertainment industry, there are shooting stars and stars that burn steady and bright. Robert Redford has the longevity of the latter, a quality of the fixed, steady sign of Leo. Yes, personal charisma and incredible willpower help, but this man could teach goal-setting seminars. As an idealist and realist of what's possible, Saturn in Aquarius makes goals -- and nails them. | Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. |

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
