Taste of Colorado to draw a half-million visitors |

Looking for something to do outside the region for the Labor Day weekend? It’d be hard to go wrong with the Taste of Colorado in Denver.
The fun-filled event is at Civic Center Park in dowtown Denver (intersection of Colfax Avenue and Broadway) and goes from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday.
Admission is free but tickets, which a strip of eight can be purchased for $5, must be used to buy food, drink and carnival rides.
This is the festival’s 24th anniversary, and more than 500,000 people are expected to attend. More than 50 restaurants will have fare to taste, and there will be 250 booths for artisans and vendors.
Seven stages will also allow a diverse range of musicians to show off their stuff.
Among the northern Colorado artists performing are Whiskey Trip, Book ’Em Danno and Tim Hanauer.
National acts will also take the main stage:
- Peter White, 7:30 p.m. Friday
- Night Ranger, 1 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday
- The Grass Roots, 1 p.m. Sunday
- Survivor, 7:30 p.m. Sunday
- Jennifer Hanson, 1 p.m. Sunday
- BoDeans, 5:30 p.m. Monday

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
