Fox has given a put pilot commitment to an American version of the popular British comedy "Spaced."
McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision will produce along with format owner Grenada America.
The original series premiered in 1999 and starred Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg as two strangers who pretend to be a couple to rent a flat. Hynes and Pegg were both writers on the series, which was directed by Edgar Wright ("Hot Fuzz") and co-starred Nick Frost.
"Spaced" ran for 14 episodes over two seasons.
According to the industry trade papers, the American pilot will be written by Adam Barr, a "Will & Grace" veteran and a co-executive producer on "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
McG most recently set up "Invisible" at Fox and directed the pilot for NBC's "Chuck." Other TV production credits for the "We Are Marshall" auteur include "Supernatural" and "The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll," both on The CW. He produced "The O.C." and "Fastlane" for Fox. | Only registered users can write comments.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
