TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (April 17). You're seen as beautiful, effervescent and highly attractive to those you meet this year. Even better, you're finally starting to believe this yourself. The romantic sector of your life gets a sprinkling of planetary "umph" in the next 10 weeks, probably with the introduction of a new person. You're especially connected with a Cancer and a Libra. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 40, 2, 24 and 16.
For anyone who still hasn't taken advantage of the Aries sun's gift of "beginner's luck" and embarked on a totally new experience, the Sagittarius moon issues a warning: "Get up. Get out. Get with it. It's only your life here." Remember that adventure always comes with some degree of risk -- that's where the rush comes from.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). You have more cachet than cash, which is fine. Just about anyone can make cash, but cachet is cultivated over lifetimes. The sun is smiling on you, rooting for you to be well compensated for your efforts.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You love to spend money. Drop some on a cheap-and-chic pleasure instead of a costly luxury now. You'll get almost as much pleasure from a less expensive purchase.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). In matters of business, you experience the thrill of the chase. Your love life, however, is on a slow simmer, which, over time, will have a flavorful influence on the rest of your life.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). You're puzzled by well-meaning friends who don't seem to get the point of your conversation. Breathe, relax, and know that you are accepted and loved no matter how inept some people may be at showing you.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Attack your daily rituals with a flourish. This is a special time for you, and anything you can do to help yourself remember it brings good luck. In fact, have someone take your picture.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). As far as you're concerned, wanting is for amateurs. You actually yearn. Your insides cry. Your aura reaches. The thing you long for is definitely within the realm of possibility (though, you'll probably have to calm down first).
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You have officially examined all options, pondered all outcomes, ruminated over all hypotheticals. Enough already. Decide. You don't have to love and cherish your choice until death do you part. It's not that big of a deal.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). People find you interesting because you always have an unexpected take on a topic. Today is no exception. You'll raise eyebrows and twist social expectations on their ear.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). When you're on to a good idea, you feel it in every cell of your body. Still, there are obstacles. Don't take the first one, which will be rather big, as a bad omen. Persist.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). The rush of excitement you get from learning is unexpected and invigorating. You might as well have discovered new land for all the glorious possibilities swimming around in your brain.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). The perspective you prefer: the look of life from dizzying heights. Which is why you allow a situation to rocket like Willy Wonka in a glass elevator. Things are getting weird -- and wonderful, too.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Those who are paid to know more than you are surprisingly green. It's a sign that you've become a big fish in a little pond. Consider moving to a bigger pond.
ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "Would you shed a light on my lost soul in love? I have my ex (May 17, 1977) who is married, who I am still in touch with and have so much feeling for that I can't sleep. I fell in love with another Taurus (May 15, 1976) who is so cool that he's cold sometimes. Since he denies me, I broke with him to find somebody who wouldn't take me for granted. My ex husband, with his unhappy marriage and kid is still there ... what should I do?"
I find it fascinating that you include both of your love interest's birthdays but forget to include your own. It's no matter because, obviously, you should try dating someone who is not a Taurus. These men are so sensual and grounded that it's easy to project all of your need for security onto them. You feel if they would only love you everything would be OK. Though Taurus men can be very loving, they need space -- lots of space. On second thought, my advice is to stop dating (and hoping and pining and wishing) and spend some time exploring that void in your heart that causes you to seek so much security outside yourself. True security comes from within.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Aries late-night funnyman Conan O'Brien will find himself and his namesake show more popular than ever this upcoming year, as more people than ever utilize their Tivos and DVRs (digital video recorders) to watch his unique brand of comedy during the day. As a result, audiences will openly embrace O'Brien when he takes over Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" hosting duties in 2009.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
