Page 2 of 2 In his words
What is it about this job that makes it challenging? Makes you get out of bed in the morning? Being able to represent my university, in a unique way, eases the early morning wake-ups during the weekends. It is not often that a college student has an opportunity to be a ram handler. Things that impress you? I am always impressed on how much support there is from both alumni and students for Cam the Ram and the university. Things that don’t. I am not impressed with the fans from opposing teams. Often, they like to ridicule and degrade. How do young/new employees get ahead? A new ram handler could get a great head start by helping with summer events. This is the best time for a ram handler to gain experience and train with Cam the Ram. Did you ever think in a million years you’d work here? It crossed my mind one time just before I got up to CSU. I remember watching a CSU vs. CU football game and seeing the ram handlers running out with Cam the Ram. I thought to myself that would be neat to be a ram handler, but what are the chances of me actually becoming one? It never crossed my mind after that — until I was asked to be one in the spring of 2005. If you weren’t doing this, what would you do? I would be in the stands cheering on our team! What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever done while at work? I have not done anything stupid necessarily, but the most embarrassing thing was falling down while running with Cam in front of 30,000 fans my very first time. We were playing against Nevada, and it was our first home game of the year (2005). I was running out in the second half. As we took off, I didn’t realize it, but the other lead ram handler fell down at the beginning and I continued running. Thirty yards later, I noticed that I was running by myself. Cam began hitting me in my side and took me down to the ground and dragged me for about 5 yards until another ram handler grabbed the other rope, so I had time to get up. That was the most embarrassing thing that has happened to me. Smartest? The smartest thing was accepting the opportunity to be a ram handler. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever done to make money? Las Vegas was interesting; we’ll leave it at that... Any interesting anecdotes? See question about stupidest thing I’ve done. What’s the one thing you wish you could do on the job that you can’t right now?W I wish I were able to dance when they play music on the loud speakers. What do you do during your breaks? I usually grab a bite to eat or something to drink, and talk with friends. What’s one thing about your job you would do, even if you weren’t paid to do it? I’m not paid in the first place, so I would still represent the University in a positive matter as the Ram Handlers have done in the past. Name one thing in your life that really prepared you for your job. Interestingly enough, I didn’t have any agriculture background like many of the past Ram Handlers had. Although, I think what did prepare me was my enthusiasm and excitement for this rare opportunity. What’s the biggest payoff in your job? Seeing the smiles on all the fans. Cam is like a celebrity to many fans; it is very special when they get to see him. Are you the boss? Do you think you should be? I may not be the head Ram Handler, but that is fine with me. Our current one is a great leader. I’m just proud to be on the team! What do you do when you’re not at work? Study, work, or volunteer for my other student organization, the Student Alumni Connection. Pets? Family? I don’t have any pets. I have two younger brothers, Seth and Tyler, which are 15 and 14 respectively, along with my Mom and Dad, Jerri and James. Favorite TV shows. I really enjoy watching “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. They do a lot of great things for families in need. Movies. I have to say, that I am a huge fan of “Spiderman”. I can’t wait until the third one comes out, May 4, 2007! Books. I also like to read my Bible. It is a guide for my everyday life. What Web sites do you have bookmarked? My e-mail, Wells Fargo billing statements, RamWeb, WebCT, Facebook, Craigslist, Ebay, Consumer Reports, CNET and of course 9News, I have to keep up-to-date. Where do you play? I love to play sports, any sport. Often, you will find me on the intramural fields, the basketball court, volleyball court, or the recreation center, it just depends. Go out to eat? As far as food, I love Chipotle! A big hit with many of my friends is Chili’s! I want my baby back ribs! Favorite spot? My favorite spot would have to be my room. I am able to get away from the world, meditate, and relax. It is where I can get a lot of work done, whether it is for school or for my student organizations. It’s a place I am free and full of ideas. A place where I can dream! | Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register.

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
