You may not have heard of Karla Bonoff, but chances are you’ve heard her songs.
Chart-topping singers such as Wynonna Judd, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville have sung Bonoff originals.
She has also had success singing her own songs, including “Personally,” which was a top 40 hit. Bonoff has also created “Somebody’s Eyes” for the “Footloose” soundtrack, and “Standing Right Next to Me” for the “8 Seconds” Soundtrack. For those who aren’t familiar with the name Karla Bonoff, concert promoter John Punessen sees similarities between Bonoff and other musicians.
“She is a sensitive singer/ songwriter from the 70s, like James Taylor or Carly Simon,” Punessen said.
Bonoff won’t be performing alone, joining her are Nina Gerber and Kenny Edwards. “Kenny and I have been playing together since we were teenagers. He produced my first three albums. I began playing with Nina two or three years ago,” Bonoff said.
This won’t be Bonoff’s first appearance in Colorado or at the Rialto Theatre. “It’s my third time at the Rialto. It’s always great to play an old theatre like that, those theatres are few and far between. Not many of them have been saved,” Bonoff said. Bonoff is confident that fans and people unfamiliar with her work will enjoy her concert.
“Most people who do come are familiar with my music. I think new people would realize that they are familiar with my songs too and probably really enjoy it,” Bonoff said.
Fans can expect Kenny Edwards to do a solo set to begin the night, followed by Bonoff, Gerber and Edwards playing songs from all Bonoff’s albums and a few new ones.

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
