HOROSCOPES BY HOLIDAY The Aries moon is like a gunshot at the races, and everyone is off with a burst of adrenaline. Do you know where you're going? It would be a shame to waste this astral fuel by running off in a random direction. Take the Taurus sun's lead. Eliminate distraction, and settle on one important task that can be completed by the end of the day.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Forget being the most creative, best and brightest in favor of just getting the work done. When you remove your lofty expectations, you'll be surprised to find your work to be of very high quality, in spite of the perspective shift.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Secrets spread like wildfire, and you're easily sucked in to the guilty pleasure of gossip. Your role might be more of damage control, keeping people from getting too nasty.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You want and deserve top billing, but saying you want it at this stage in the game will weaken your position. When a boss asks you to share center stage, go along. In the end, the credit goes where it's earned.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). The buzzword for the day is: CONTRAST. It's the colorful people in your life who make you appreciate the mainstream, and vice versa. Tonight brings the chance for playful mischief and memory making.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). There's an old German proverb that says: Even the lion must defend himself against flies. You'll be swatting such small, noisy nuisances out of your life today, possibly for good.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (APRIL 25) You're so connected with your loved ones this year that your lives roll together like waves in the tide. They'll thank you for years for what you do in the next five weeks. Professionals are ushered to new heights in June. A major purchase in November or January affects your social life. You're spellbinding in July. Leo and Aries people are fantastic partners. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 40, 31, 26 and 47.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Do you dare mention your ultimate goal to higher-ups? If so, the opportunity they'll offer will be much more in line with your values. Speak up around 3:00 p.m., when your confidence is so high that nobody can say no to you.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Whatever you do today, you do it with a wholehearted and strenuous effort. Expect to sweat. Tonight, you'll tumble into bed with a satisfied smile on your face.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). For the one you love, you'd do anything -- walk through fire, swim through battery acid or throw on a meat shirt and wrestle a bear. This person doesn't need you to do any of those things but will have a favor to ask.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). It feels as though your life is an episode of "The Surreal Life" today, complete with oddly wrecked individuals squabbling over ridiculous circumstances. The only sensible thing to do is separate yourself from the riffraff.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Today's dilemma boils down to: "Should I stay, or should I go?" You're better off staying. There's too much to do in your corner of the world. Any improvements made now have a far-reaching effect.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). A behavior you used to think was maverick is really just stubborn. The new motto is: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." It's not weakness, but social smarts, that drive this transition.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Someone loves you very much. This, however, doesn't mean they own you. Today is for drawing boundaries, even if they are only drawn in your own mind. Talking with a Cancer person helps.
ASTROLOGICAL SPECIAL, PART TWO OF FOUR: Is "What's your sign?" your pick up line? It's an old classic, to the point of being cliche -- but it can still work to open the conversation. That is, if you know how to follow it up! If the answer to this question is CANCER, you can offer up these tidbits: (SET ITAL) Has your work life been particularly interesting lately? Because Mars has been in Cancer (good until June 3rd). Do you find you're more affected by the moon than other people are? What was your last psychic experience? (END ITAL) If the answer is LEO, you can say: (SET ITAL) Wow, Saturn has been in your sign ... that's heavy! Have you experienced profound changes this year? (Saturn will be in Leo until Sept. 2007.) Do you have any hobbies that have to do with entertaining an audience? What's the wildest thing you ever did with your hair? (END ITAL) If the answer is VIRGO, you can reply: (SET ITAL) Do you take vitamins? Your sign is known for being somewhat of a health expert. I heard that Virgo has a natural green thumb. Have you ever had luck growing things? Virgos are supposed to be terrific dancers because they have good rhythm. Does this describe you? (END ITAL)
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Venus-ruled Renee Zellweger has followed her heart to professional greatness (an Oscar and Golden Globe awards) and also to personal disappointments (an annulment from quickie marriage to country star Kenny Chesney). Even when things don't work out, Taurus women are better off for having followed their heart's instinct. After risking all, deep self-knowledge emerges.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
