Festival Floor
• 25th Festival
• Guinness World Record Holder for most beers tapped in one location • 1,650 beers on tap. It will be one of the largest array of beers ever at the GABF, and the biggest selection of American beers ever gathered together on the globe.
• 47 states represented and the District of Columbia (states not represented on the festival floor are North Dakota, Rhode Island, West Virginia)
• About 18,000 gallons of beer
• Expected attendance of more than 30,000
• More than 380 U.S. breweries on the festival floor
• 44,000 square foot increase in space from 2005 for a total of 188,000 square feet of beer heaven
• Last year 2,693 volunteers and 40,000 volunteer hours helped make the beer flow. Only the Rose Parade has more volunteers participating. Navigating the Floor
• Floor is divided into U.S. Regions: South, Northeast, North Central, Mountain West, Pacific, Pacific Northwest.
• Taste the beers from a particular state or region.
• Focus on one particular style of beer (ex. Stouts, pilseners or pale ales) Notice how breweries in different regions approach that certain style.
• Taste the Medal Winners on Saturday afternoon or evening sessions. (Winners announced during the Saturday afternoon session)
Festival History • The 1st festival was held in 1982 at the Harvest House Hotel in Boulder. There were 22 breweries, 40 beers and 800 attendees.
• The festival moved to Denver in 1984.
• The 10th festival was held at the Denver Merchandise Mart, there were 150 breweries, 500 beers and 7,000 attendees.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
