Where can you see over 25,000 kegs worth of beer, a day? Right in FoCo. This past week I toured the Budweiser plant in Fort Collins. If you are a resident, college student, or just an avid beer lover or drinker, this tour should be on your list of to-do's. The self-proclaimed 'King of Beers' brewhouse is one of the most state of the art plants across the nation. Throughout the hour and a half tour, 'I Spyed' only three employees. Yet, daily, thousands of beer cans are being filled and cased and shipped within a twelve state area. The amount of beer that the Bud plant can output daily is absolutely mind-boggling, and will leave you salivating. It also serves as foder for your intellectually stimulating party conversations. Stun your friends with cosmic numerical figures relating to the volumes of booze being produced right here in FoCo. Or, if math isn't your subject of choice, perhaps you would like to amuse your friends with the process of brewing Budweiser. Dowse them in the brewing process from rice grains to beachwood aging. If the brewhouse and tour isn't of much interest for you, then hang out for the two free glasses of beer at the end of the tour. Everything that the FoCo plant brews is available at the bar, so prepare yourself for a difficult decision. So if you have two hours to spare sometime, go tour the king of beers, and have a beer on me. As friar Tuck says in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, "This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about...beer."

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36) writen by: Drew What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |
