 The Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art’s 2006 Rocky Mountain Biennial Exhibition will start May 30.
Twenty-three artists from the Rocky Mountain region will show 108 pieces.
The 2006 version of the show will look different to those expecting a large number of artists featuring many different types of work. In the past, as many as 100 artists were featured with as many as 200 different pieces shown.
 This year, juror William Wylie made the show more focused. Wylie, a Colorado State University alum, said he wanted to show the works of artists who had a sense of consistency.
The final artists selected for the exhibition will show a variety of media including painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture and installation.
The exhibition, which runs through Aug. 19, is open to the public. There will be a reception for the artists and jurors from 6-9 p.m. June 2. Admission during regular business hours is $2.
The museum is at 201 S. College Ave., and is open to the public from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon-5 p.m. Saturday.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
