Sure, John Elway was a great quarterback. But what's with his name and sponsorship carrying so much weight? There's used car dealerships, restaurants, and not to mention tons of sponsors. He even has his own website, dedicated in full, to the loyalist of the loyal. After I watched my beloved Vikings come back to win against the Lions on Sunday, a friend called me to see if I had caught the game. He then asked if I was transforming into a Broncos fan. I responded "I would cheer for the Broncos if they were any good." Of course, the broncos are and have been a decent team. Five Super Bowl appearances is nothing to keep quiet about. But I still and will forever, bleed Purple and Gold. I would have Bronco fans know that over the past 25 years, only one NFL team has had more playoff apperances than the Vikes, (Dallas Cowboys). We also have 4 Super Bowl apperances, and under the iconic Head Coach Bud Grant, won 11 divisional titles in 13 years. The Vikes have a deep and rich franchise history. Metropolitan Stadium, the epitome of football and the elements; the 'Black and Blue' rivalry, the essence of football's physical nature, played out between the Vikes and Bears, the Purple People Eaters, arguably the fiercest defense in the history of the NFL, leading to three Super Bowl appearances. But hold on. I'm going off my rocker here. What's my point? Although the Vikings are the heart and soul for most Minnesota sports fans, we also had the Stars, The Lakers, etc. And currently have the Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, U 0f M, and of course, the Vikings. Colorado has the Broncos, and, well.... the Broncos, but you do have John Elway. And thank god for your economy and local businesses too.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36) writen by: Drew What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |
