ON THE FLY: IT'S ALL IN THE TECHNIQUE
 It is easiest to learn to cast a fly rod in a yard rather than trying to figure it out on the water.
The first step is the grip. Run your thumb parallel with the grip on the rod and keep the rest of the rod below your grip and parallel to your forearm.
Then, let out about 10 to 20 feet of line and hold the line firmly in place with your other hand.- When casting, use a deliberate motion and bring the rod back to a 45 degree angle of your center, to a 2 o’clock position behind you. As you cast, move your arm from 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock then back, with a smooth stroke. Pause briefly during the back-cast to give the line time to gather all its power before bringing forward.
Let the line straighten out behind you but before the lure hits the ground, or water, abruptly pull the rod to the 10 o’clock position in front of you, so the lure hits the ground or water.
Repeat until fish is caught.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
