More about moe.
It Goes to 11
Like the fictional band in the movie Spinal Tap, moe. has churned out concerts full of hard rock and heavy metal songs. And like the band in the movie, moe. has operated with a cast of revolving drummers. The main difference: moe.’s drummers did not spontaneously combust.
What’s in a Name?
moe. took its name from the old Louis Jordan song, “Five Guys Named Moe.” But as members came and went, only moe. stuck.
“There is still some question as to who came up with moe. first,” guitarist Al Schnier explained. “We started putting it on posters and it just looked cool, but we’re not sure exactly who came up with the idea first.”
Decisions, decisions
Schnier talks about balancing the band with life: “When I got fired from my job because I was taking too much time with my band, a couple of the other guys were failing in school for the same reason, and all of us were having problems with our girlfriends because we were touring. We formed the band to have fun, and we did, only it got to the point where we had to choose to be a band and let the other stuff go.”

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
