 Patti Smith toasted the end of punk birthplace CBGB's 33-year run with what else? Chants of "Hey ho, let's go!" from the Ramones' classic "Blitzkrieg Bop"
"CBGBs is a state of mind you know? Young people, new generations will make their own places and to me there's nothing sad about it," Smith said.
 The Sunday night concert was CBGB's last before eviction by its landlord -- the Bowery Residents Committee, a homeless advocacy group that owns the property. The club will close Oct. 31.

- Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea joined Smith's band for much of her second set.

- E Street Band guitarist Little Steven Van Zandt
MORE CBGB?
 Club owner Hilly Kristal founded CBGB in 1973 and fought to keep it open in recent years. He helped spawn the careers of acts like the Ramones, Blondie, the Talking Heads and Television. He may open another CBGB in Las Vegas.
"I'm thinking about tomorrow and the next day and the next day, and going on to do more with CBGB's," Kristal said Sunday.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
